Got my 1st date!!!!!!

Excellent news!!!!! I am so glad you called me, I got stuck in what seemed like the never ending hurry up and wait line and I am so thankful that I could help you!!!! I am here for anything you need!!

I know you are Jane & you don't know how much that means to me!! I can't thank you enough for giving me the information about Duncan & Pam! I have been assigned a nurse/case manager by UHC & from the way it sounds, it looks like things will (fingers crossed) go pretty smoothly!! I pray they do. I have my 1st office visit on 10/18. I cant' wait. I'm full of ???'s and I've researched the surgery so much I feel like I could perform it myself. I know you understand what I mean. I wonder how much of an influence my UC & Crohn's is gonna have?? What's your opinion on that from a nursing standpoint?

I am not completely sure, but I do not think you will have any trouble related to either of those. I am praying for smooth sailing for you. I go for my Pre-op tomorrow!!

Good for you Jane! I know you are excited!!! Got a ? for you....is it standard for them to do a stress test & a EDG? I know you said you had to do it--just wondering if I will too?

It seems that insurance has there requirements and then each surgeon has requirements. For me:

Insurance

6 month supervised diet prior to approval

psych eval

Surgeon

EGD

EKG/Stress Test/Pulmunary Function Test

Chest Xray

There may be other requirements depending on your medical conditions, but when you go for that first appointment, they will map it all out for you. After that first appointment, you will feel like you have a plan! I was so confused until that point.

Had my preop yesterday with Dr. Duncan, all went well and I am set for next Friday, 10/8! I am so excited to begin this new journey!
