What am I doing wrong? I have 7cc so far. I was banded middle of April and have lost 47.6 pounds. But was told by family members that it is not enough. A family member had hers done two weeks after mine and she has lost 60 pounds. My family and I walk at least 5 miles a week and I go to curves 4 days a week. I was so happy about what I have lost until then. What should I do?

What you should do is be proud of yourself and stop letting others dictate your rate or success. Every person will do this differently. Everybody will respond completely differently. Accept that you are doing something everyday to improve your health and make that your empowerment plan.

Family means well but they aren't always right.

Continuing to be happy will get you there faster than any feelings of failure. I'm proud of you for doing right by and for yourself!

exactly what fool4dance says! everyone loses at different rates. youve done REALLY well and should be proud! never let others decide how this is going for you. its your body, your band, do things your way. :) i think youve made fantastic progress. keep up the good work. if you have a system that works, stick with it!

You have done fantastic! I know one of the hardest things we deal with as bandsters is resisting comparison between ourselves and others (friends, bloggers, forums, patients). It is hard to do. Struggling with this sometimes drives my moods. I've tried to overcome this by trying not to check out everyone's surgery date when they say how much weight they've lost and instead focus on ways they did it.

The other big thing is to think about where you were in March. Look at a picture. Try on a pair of pants that were tight back then. You are doing so well! Stop and congratulate yourself for YOUR success :-).

Well look at how far you have come!! I stayed the same for almost one month. It was suggested I switch my foods up a bite and eat different things. I needed to watch the caloric value of some foods and keep a variety of foods and liquids going in. I found the plateau was very hard for me to deal with. I ate more cooked broccoli and other veggies and it helped. You are probably doing everything well and the plateau is just your bodies way of letting you know who is in charge. I know because my body never really liked losing 110 pounds. Hang in there and the scale will move. Follow the rules. Best wishes imaluckydog
