Liquid Diet

I'm on phase one of my two week liquid diet. I've become cranky and pissed at the world.:w00t: I miss food, but I know I'm doing this for a better me. Luckily, I have great support and my friends understand my emotions are temporary. Each day the liquid diet becomes easier, but it's a challenge to be on such a restricted diet. I'm glad my doctor gave me two weeks because it gave me time to adjust to my lifestyle change.

Good luck on ur liquid diet! It does get better! I have been on the liquid diet for a week ands a half. My surgery is scheduled this Thursday. I am drinking V8 (lite) for the juice and regular V8 for the veggies. I also drink broths, protein shakes, water and decaffinated tea. You should alos be able to have sugar free popsicles and Jell-o.

I finished the liquad diet a little over a week ago! I feel your pain. I had a few days during that phase when I had to question myself. However, I have moved on to soft foods and loving it. Just keep telling yourself it is temporary. And...stay away from the TV. I never knew how many food commercials were about food. Just know we have all been there. :)

I am about a week into my two week pre-op diet of liquids. I also miss food. I have been having a lot of tomato soup. I am trying to keep my eye on the prize. It's tough....lol.. I'm with ya

I start mine tomorrow - but I need to do six weeks because (like the rest of me) my liver needs to be de-fatted before surgery. I'm not thrilled at having to do six weeks, but if I must, I must and I might as well get as much off as I can between now and my surgery on 9-29.
