It's Official

Today is 1 month and 4 days since my Lap-Band surgery and I have officially lost exactly 20 lbs. I am so happy and excited.

I was at K-Mart yesterday and they had a huge sale on short sleeve, light-weight summer tops. Living in Florida, I wear these all year round. So I purchased some 2X tops - I hate passing up a good sale lol. I got home and tried them on but they were a little snug. Oh well, I'll just have to wait another 1-2 weeks before they fit comfortably, but that's not bad when you consider I have been wearing 3X and 4X up to this point.

I am looking forward to my first fill on Thurs. I think I am now ready for it. I find I am able to eat a little bit more than I have been in the last couple of weeks, but still keeping within the guidelines the doctor and nutritionist have set up for me. I get my protein down first and I am drinking as much as I possibly can during the day. Sometimes I can actually hear myself slosh as I am walking, but I guess I am not alone in that.

I am so curious as to what the restriction is going to feel like. I think I am a littel nervous about possibly having something get stuck or throwing up - 2 things I would like to avoid for the rest of my life if I have anything to say about it. But I will be brave and have the fill. I was nervous about the needle, but after reading other people blog about it, I am not nervous about it anymore.

I am happy to be on this journey with so many wonderful people. As the process continues, my enthusiam goes up. My excitement keeps growning leaps and bounds and I am so happy. I wish this great feeling on all of my bandster friends.

I celebrate your 20 pounds with you - yeahh! Your enthusiam is infectious. I'll be anxious to hear how your fill goes. I share the nervousness of having something get stuck or throwing up - everything I've read says both are pretty painful. But if we're cautious, maybe we can avoid it and if not, we will survive. Keep up the good work, I'm following right behind you and you're blazing a terriffic trail for me to follow!

Congrats on your 20 pounds lost Bklynike. You are doing great.. In know time you will be in your new tops. Plus with all your weight lost you will need new clothes every 2 months. And you are not going to feel nothing more then a tiny prick from the needle for your fill. It is so worth it... LOVE IT!

Great News on 20 pounds lost!! I am a shopper and would love to buy some new stuff but I am holding off. My cousin saw me for the first time and said you need to buys some shirts that fit! I keep washing them in hot water and putting them in the dryer!! I hit 25 pounds lost yesterday! I was really sick yesterday but I am better today not sure what it was .. right now I am saying a virus or migraine I dont think it was band related because I can eat and drink without a problem.

yea!!! The fill I had was great! It feels like everything is "tighter" if that makes sense??? they will ask you to drink water when they are done to see if you can swallow and keep it down. It's not bad at all. Good luck

I tell alot more about it on my blog. I would love for you to subscribe

OMG I'm gonna lose it!!! [no-reply@wordpress.com]
