2nd Stage Update

So, just a quick post on how I am doing with the 2nd stage of this journey. This is my 6th day on pured/mushy foods. So far I have been satisfied. I feel good, have energy and no emotional breakdowns like I had on liquids.

This is what I am eating: 1/4 cup of pured foods 3 times a day. I eat it VERY slowly over a 20-30 minute time frame. No drinking 15 minutes before and I wait 1-1.5 hours after I finish eating to drink again. I also have 3 protein shakes a day with Calorie Countdown Fat Free milk.

So far my go to foods are oatmeal, refried beans with cheese and salsa and canned chicken. Thats seriously all I have been eating. I need to change it up a bit! Very boring, i know.

I have also stepped up my exercising as I am feeling back to normal. I seriously don't feel like I have had surgery. Everything has healed nicely and I have been using vitamin E on my incisions, which seems to be working.

As of this morning, i am down to 199.5 pounds! Thats a total of 11.5 pounds lost since surgery on March 29th. I am fitting into my older clothes and feeling a lot better about myself. Now, i have 50 pounds to go!

Great job Jilly! Isn't it awesome to be in the 100's? That is my biggest goal is to get under the 200 mark. I too had surgery same date as you...I have lost 11 lbs since surgery however I still have some pain. I know you said you don't feel like you had surgery however do you feel any tightness? Its crazy most people feel the tightness in the chest however I feel the tightness/pain on my port and shoots to my back...ugh it feels so weird. I guess I have to get use to it. I am happy for you!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
    • Congratulations! What a great journey! Thank you so much for sharing. You are inspiring!

      Einarmige Banditen
