So, this is my first blog! I am 4 months post-op, I have been doing pretty well so far. Or so I thought....

I have been in the gym every day and loving it. Initially I was being good about tracking what I was eating and protein intake, etc.

Now I have kind of slacked off and been cheating more.

Dont know why but I was fooling myself thinking it would be ok>Then I had my doctors appointment last week and it was like a slap in the face- only 4 pounds down this month:-(

I really was not aware of how much I had cheated until I got weighed, then I had a flashback of every little indiscretion of the previous month. So completely disappointed in myself.

Trying to stay positive and convince myself that maybe I needed this to get me back on track. 8 days and NO cheats, not one!!! Also, I have been getting to extra classes at the gym and pushing myself a little more.

My first short term goal was to be under 250 by New Years, made that without a problem.

My next goal was to be under 200 by June 1. If I stay on track I should be able to make that but if I slip up....

Oh BTW- I have not had any adjustments- I have not needed any until this last appointment. I chose not to have one this month because I think my pathetic showing for the past month had nothing to do with adjustment. It was not that I was feeling hungry, I wasnt eating too much at one time. I was picking, a little of this, a little of that. I knew when I was doing it that I shouldn't be eating that crap!

Well, there it is, my first blog! I guess we'll see what happens over the next few weeks.

I'm about where you are, I had surgery on 12-29-09. I lost really well pre-op and right after. Lost 36 pds but the first fill only lasted about a week and a half. Had no restrictions after that. Went back for my appt a month later for my second fill. There was no saline in my band. Had only lost four pds. Since my last fill on 3-1-09 I have had very little restriction. I don't think I have lost anything this month. I am sooo disheartened. I go back for my third fill April lst. Hope this one will be restrictive, I have to drive almost five hours to get to my surgeons office for my fills. I have to get on a plane in about six weeks and I want to be able to fit without an extention belt.lol Has it been hard for you to not overeat when you know you can without restriction, or is it just me?

I have lost just about 70 pounds so far.

I think I was in the same mindset as you roxie. Telling myself that I have been doing well and getting in the gym so a few bites of pizza or bread is not a big deal.

I think my surgeon is wonderful and I trust him so I am trying to follow the rules and see how much better my results are.

Showard: that is terrible that you have to drive so far to see your surgeon- was that the only one available or was that who you chose??

I dont feel I overeat, I do get full on small amounts. I just think I was picking and snacking more than I realized and when I wasnt hungry.

According to my scale at home I have lost another 4 pounds since last week, maybe following the rules is a good thing:-)

Bye, bye italian bread and Baked ziti, no lasagna for Easter, no pizza. Good bye to all the garbage!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
