Worried

I'm worried. I got banded on 6/11/09 and it has been 8 months since then. I have only lost 56 pounds and I'm losing determination quickly. I don't want to give up and I'm not but I feel like everything I'm doing isn't right. I need to get a fill but every time I do, I get over filled and it hurts like hell. I'm getting back into working out, I was sick for a week and had to stop. I'm trying to create healthy meal plans for the week but even when I do..they end up falling through. I'm scared that my skin isn't going to snap back and I think that's why I'm sub-consciously keeping myself from doing the right thing. I know that being healthy is more important than vanity but I'm 18! I've been made fun of for being overweight for as long as I can remember...I don't want to be made fun of for having loose skin too.

I just need to get my head on straight. That's why I came back to lapbandtalk, at least here I can get good advice and support. Not even my doctors and nurses help me anymore. I feel abandoned.

I think 56 pounds is pretty good. We cannot expect this journey to be perfect. We are gonna mess up and life is going to happen causing us to mess up. Just keep trucking. Also at age 18 I think your skin has more of a chance of bouncing back than most of us. Glad you came back here for support. The only way to get out of this slump you feel your in is to keep on fighting and eventually you will realize you've come out of it. Good luck to you.

You have made a positive effort to change. You have already won.

Imagine where you would be right now if you did nothing at all. Don't give up. Focus on your goals. Pat yourself on the back for how far you have come.

Don't forget, you are someone's elses inspiration. (Mine at the moment. 56 lbs! OMG!!! That has given me the will to try harder.) Your story will motivate others, and people are counting on you to live a long healthy life.

You must keep strong and lose the baggage of what other people think. You are beyond that now. You are leading the way and writing your own success story. These people who have laughed at your health previously have no idea the battle you are fighting and winning. In 10 years they may be in the same fight and have a completely different point of view of you. Forgive them and move on. Life is too short to hold onto that kind of pain. Make yourself happy and love yourself.
