I am 9 days out from surgery and I know am having pain in the middle of my chest when I drink anything (still on liquid diet). I have only had protein drinks, water, broth, and water with crystal light in it. It feels like I have a burp in there, nothing comes out and it takes hours to pass. Any ideas? Nothing could be stuck cause I have not had anything but liquids....right?:rolleyes2:

well are you taking a small sip and letting it go down before attempting another small sip or are you taking a normal gulp? do you know if your surgeon had a slight fill in your band?

I am taking very small sips and I wait about a minute before I take another, I do not think there is any fill in it.

is there any actual pain or is it just pressure? i know that when i take a sip, i feel pressure because the water sits above my band for a minute before going down. if youre worried tho, call your surgeon.

I can completely relate to the "burp" feeling. I can feel that long after I have drank anything. I was wondering if anyone else felt this way. I had my surgery yesterday, so I was hoping this would go away in time.

Pressure in the chest is what I felt with anything going down until those internal stitches healed. Just keep your doc informed and take it slow. -BG

It is pressure I guess, it is better today. Doc said it may still be swelling from surgery. We will see in a few days I suppose. Thanks for the replies!
