11/2/09 It's Calling My Name...

I jinxed myself...we each carved a pumpkin for Halloween and I did the PBing Pumpkin as planned (pic attached & my front door/porch). Yesterday I had my first PB in a long time (peanuts got me).

I made DH buy all the candy...guess I should have been more specific to buy things I don't like, because he bought lots of chocolate (I'm a chocoholic). I haven't eaten one...yet. I put all my favorites in the bowl to give out first on Halloween, but there's still a whole bowl left.

...it's sitting in the kitchen...

...and I swear...

...it's calling my name!

I hear ya! We always have chocolate in my office in the little conference room accross from my desk and I SWEAR it calls me all day! Some days louder than others... haha

So this is how I combat these cries... I know this is gonna sound ridiculous, but I sometimes close the door to the conference room so I dont hear it. The guys laugh at me in the office because i'm so silly, but HEY... if it keeps me away from that darn chocolate all day, its all good!

Oh I know what you mean. We didn't buy any since we weren't home but I told DH that he had to take the kids bags it to work or whatever, just get it out of the house.

I had 5 pieces yesterday and I swear it showed up this morning on the scale.

Love your pumpkin!

Oh by the way...DH forgot the candy..it's sitting here w/me and I can SMELL it.

I got lucky. We gave it all away, right down to the last "fun size" bag of malted milk balls. Muahahaha!! I'm safe! Whoohoo!!

Call it's name back. And tell it to go jump off a bridge....

I have a funny thing with candy. Don't like the stuff, don't crave it, don't generally want it. But if I have none in the house - it's all I can think about. Get some back in a drawer somewhere and I'm fine so long as it sits there. I never eat it. I'm rubbing off on Hubby, too, cause he used to ransack those drawers for the candy and now he never bothers. We have a drawer with some candy in it...and it's been there for almost two years now.

The Halloween candy all went lickity split. We discovered Saturday night that we live in "that" neighborhood where all the folks go to so their kids can get "the good candy". Our subdivision is still being built and this year was the first time that happened (average age of a house on my loop is 3 years). So we are gonna have to prepare better for next Halloween. I can't tell you how many "hay wagons" were driving through our streets...it's fun though, we turn it into one great big block party. My husband and I and some neighbors tailgate. One dad suggested we turn it into a real tailgate next year. Not a shabby idea - but I don't want to be providing for all the parents bussing their kids in... :)

I know Halloween is very tempting. I'm only 10 days post op, and I ate 2 pieces, just couldnt' resist it. How do you stop the cravings of food. I think some food god stuck, i felt like I was having a heart attack ,,,, such pain in my back and chest.....

I did so good preparing for surgery, and after I did great on the liquid diet, but now that i am on soft foods i am more hungry and more daring about eating foods I should not eat!!! I need my husband to take the candy to work. I am having 2 pieces a day!! I don't want to get back to bad habits.
