So, I was banded on the 22nd. Laying in the holding area waiting for surgery I definately had second thoughts, I was nervous, scared ...disappointment in myself. I was in surgery longer than anticipated because they had trouble with getting the breathing tube in correctly....I ended up with a terrible sore throat...Dr. Glasgow fixed a hernia while in there..too. The first night was the hardest..couldn't get comfortable....fortunately I didn't have the gas pains that the other two girls had that were in my room. I got up and walked the hospital floors three times and it def helped a lot. Its been five days and I'm able to have clear soups, oatmeal, cream of wheat, sugar free juice.... the oatmeal feels like lead going down....sugar free popsicles are the best going down... I didn't take any of the pain medication they wrote for me...I am just doing motrin or liquid tylenol and it seems to be working fine. I have no pain. My belly is swollen and tender but not bad. I feel weakish but I think thats just from being on a liquid diet for 15 days! I am getting excited about watching the scale go down...I'm down 15 pds in 15 days. Woo woo!!

CONGRATULATIONS Bander and WELCOME to LBT!! Those SF popsicles saved me (they come in tropical flavors even now). Thin the oatmeal with some milk and it will not cause as much pain. You'll feel better when you get back to food. I was dizzy by the end of that liquid diet. -BG
