Less than 48 hours

Well, I am less than 48 hours from being banded and I must say I am getting nervous. Every once in awhile, I ask myself what the heck I am doing? Did anyone else get that feeling just before surgery? I could use some words of encouragement about now....

I did ask myself that.....however, : we are making a choice that will affect the rest of our lives in such a dramatic way. We will be healthier, stronger, and live longer for the choice we are making. It is not easy, painless, or without struggle, but what good life choices are? You can do this!!! You (as the Loreal adds say) are worth it!!!!! the new you has begun and it will truly start in 48 hours. Grab onto that, run with it and live every minute of it. You can message me anytime. Glad to be a lapband buddy to you!!. I was banded on Oct 14th. feeling good!!!! take care and keep me posted. -Leslie

I felt the same way, and trust me, as I was being wheeled down the hallway into the OR, brain was screaming "what are you doing???" but I kept on going - I had to - I had come too far to quit on myself!

We are all afraid of change, of coming out of our safety zones, but in the long run, it will be SO worth it!

Hang in there - this is just the beginning of a journey that is all about YOU!

Good Luck with everything!

Please give me words of encouragement. I am 5 days into liquid diet and thinking "should I really do this?" I am afraid of choking while eating after surgery!!!!! HELP!!!!!

Well, since I have not had the surgery yet, I can't say how easy or hard it will be to eat afterwards, but I will tell you that with my surgeon, I will still be on a liquid/mushy diet for 4 weeks after surgery and then after that I am told you take small bites and chew, chew, chew. I'm sure it is a learning process and once you get it down, it will become second nature. I am finishing up my liquid diet. One more day to go before surgery and I must say I can't wait until I can add something else besides these shakes, broth and sugar free jello. Even cream soups are going to taste wonderful. My only concern is getting all the protein in early on because you won't be eating that much. But, I'm sure I will figure it out. Good luck to you.

I just had my surgery on Thursday, Oct. 22nd. I am sooo proud of myself. I am a little gassy, but otherwise I am ok. I had to do the liquid diet for 16 days before my surgery, so I am ok about the next two weeks of liquid. You will be fine!!! We have to keep in mind that this surgery is for our health! We made this decision because we love ourselves and our families! It is so worth it! I would do it all over again! Good luck!
