Help I'm Scared!!

Hello, I'm getting banded Nov 11th 09' exactly one month for today. I'm getting anxious and wondering if I'm going the right direction with this decision. I've been gearing up for this surgery for over a year now. I need some encouragement. I want to make a healthy life style change in my life. I hope I'm doing the right thing. I'm scared I don't want to be. Help!!

Well i just got banded, Oct.7,2009. I felt the same way a few weeks before. I'll be honest, I am in pain but the Dr. also fixed a pretty significant hiatal hernia. I have lost 13 Lbs.,5 since the surgery-that is what is keeping me motivated, the liquid diet sucks! Good luck and don't worry, it will be worth it in the end.

It's normal to be scared, my surgery came fairly quick for me. It only took 1 month for me to get approved and to be honest with you I was not physically or mentally prepared for what was lying ahead of me. Im the type of person who eats just to eat not because I was hungry. With the band in, it will not let you eat what you want to eat. I felt pain, i threw up i was miserable. Im not telling you all this to scare you, without the band I probably wouldnt have lost 38 lbs by myself. Only you can decide if this is what you want. Its not going to be easy but we are here for you. If you like we can talk more just let me know.

I was very nervous and scared too. I had my band on Oct 8th. I just kept telling myself that if I didn't do something I would be 400# by this time next year. Remember, you are doing this for your health. I felt I HAD to have the surgery or I would be dead soon. You can do it. You have the strength to get through this.

To Help I am Scared being banned 11/11/09 - It took me a year to decide to do this, I was a good looking 270 pound woman, however, in terrible health, I was banded 10/17/09 and have lost 26 1/2 pounds; I wish I had done it sonner and you will have lots of support, I am glad I took CONTROL! This is my first time on here. I understand you being scared. I am being banded this Tues. Oct. 13. I have been researching this and other weight loss surgeries and I have made the right decision. The liquid diet hasnt been as bad as I thought. 2 more days! I weighed 262 when I went to the preop appt. I think I have lost about 10 pounds this week on the liquids. I wish you the best "lovely queen". I'll be back on here and let you know how it went.

Thanks for all of your info. You all have helped me feel better about this decision. I am going to keep saying my prayers and trust that things will bo alright. I am going to go through with this and do what ever it takes to see a healthier new me in the future. I will keep in touch with all of you and thanks again.

I was banded on Oct. 7. I had all the same doubts and still do. This is my first day on the website. I feel that it will help me a great deal. The liquid diet hasn't been that bad. Today is the first day since the pre-op diet that I have felt hungry. Good luck.
