Ok, I went on a binge Thursday. I went to the funeral home to support a friend who lost her great grandson. He was 3 months old when he died. It was so sad. My friend was in shock, as was the whole family. I went back to work and just started eating. Munching on anything. Ate dinner that night. Had a hot fudge sunday after dinner......

How very sad.....that is very good of you to be there for your friend. Sometimes being there for ourselves is equally hard. I struggle with emotional eating as well. Did it make you feel any better....it never does for me. I actually feel worse afterwards....

This is a tough one. I am an OB nurse and can testify on how hard it is to watch the death of a baby. I have seen alot in the past 12 years, more grief struck parents and grandparents than I care to count. It is even harder when it happens to someone close to you. One never wants to watch those we love experience pain of any sort, especially this kind. I too am a very emotional eater and have struggled greatly with binge eating since my band. I understand all too well. For me, the food makes me feel better but only temporarily. Then the guilt and remorse sets in. You are not alone. Just try to get back on the horse and push on.
