how much time off work?

Hi everyone......... I am wonder how long people usually take of from work. I'm gonna be banded on October 16th, and was told by my doctor that i was only going to need a week off, then when I got my leave paperwork back from her it said i would need to be off for 2 wks. Does 2 weeks seem like a long time?

Two weeks seems like a long time to me, but everyone is different and it also depends on the job you have. I was banded 9/23/09 and was back to work on 9/25/09, but I basically just have to sit on my butt in front of the computer all day.

I went back to work 4 days later. But I took it easy and went home an hour earlly all that week.

I plan on taking 2 days maybe 3. I too sit on my butt.

I only took 5 days off but I wish I would have taken more because I was in so much pain. If tou can afford taking 2 weeks, do it! Good Luck! = )

I had surgery on Thursday and was back to work on Monday and no one knew.

I had surgery on a Friday and was back to work the following Wednesday. I took Monday and Tues off because my hubby was having knee surgery, otherwise I would have been good to go back to work on Monday.

That being said....I was one of "those" bansters who had NO GAS PAINS. I was like the bounce back kid! It was great! Everyone is different.

I had my surg on Tues ad went back to work Fri. I sit at a computer most of the day. I have been going home (next door to my office) to take a 1 hr nap each afternoon to make it through the rest of the day for the following week.

I sit on my butt all day too, but I had really bad gas pain (really really bad).

There is no way I could have been back to work after a few days.

I was also weak (probably from the liquid diet), and tended to get a bit lightheaded.

I took a week off, then for the second week shorten my days to 6 hours.

what is the gas pain about.

i am due for surgery in 3 weeks and need to know as much as i can
