October 2009 Surgery Date?

I'm waiting for my phone to ring with my surgery date!

I finished the 6-mo supervised diet and insurance approval. Now just waiting to start next phase -- pre-op testing? and an actual date.

Looking forward to the changes but still scary about being able to resist temptations!

Those who have been before me -- do you still dream about rib-eye steak, chocolate desserts, and Diet Cokes?

What's the best advice you can give a newbie? Would love to hear from you.:huh2:

There's no food that's off-limits for me, but amazingly I don't crave huge amounts of things like chocolate like I used to. I really don't feel the 'deprevation' like I have on other diets because I'm not on a diet! I'm a huge chocoholic and now I'll have a SF Russel Stovers, or just a bite of something and be satisfied. I have battles with head hunger sometimes, but not often. Best wishes! -BG

I stopped drinking soda the week end before I was banded. I do not miss it and have not had or even a desire to drink it. I have not even bought any of it.I drink water and iced tea now. I would drink 4 or 5 soda a day. I thought I would want it but I have been full for most of the time. I am due for a fill and I am feeling like I can put a little more food away. But I am really trying to watch it. I want to get to onederland sooner than later. As for chocolate I can say I would bathe in it if I could. Funny thing I do not want it or desire it. This is so weird. I do not have cravings and I do not know why. I eat my three meals and I'm done. I love playing with my band. imaluckydog

Oooo, the SF Russell Stovers is so good. I don't deprive myself but there's lots of things I don't want now. My downfall was bread products but after it got stuck practically every time, I quit. One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was to exercise (another downfall). Now that I've gotten off my butt, the weight is coming off.

Good luck!

I just got my surgery date yesterday. I will be banded 10/13. I am sooooo excited but nervous and scared too. Nice to here that after banding you don't crave all those yummy things I am craving now. I have been on low carb for 2 weeks. This weekend was hard I went to a family gathering and there was alot I wanted to eat but didn't. Let me know how things go with your surgery date.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
