Patiently Waiting

So My appointment has been scheduled for September 3rd. I am excited as I am nervous. I can't wait to start a new lifestyle, make changes and stick to it. I have made life changes, but I naturally seem to fall off track. The hardest part will be trying to deal with my everyday life around friends. I have always been the party girl, the girl who enjoys going out and hanging with friends. But I want to spend a few weeks alone, just dealing with this change of life and pacing my self becuae this is one of the largest decisions I have made. The Unfortunate part is trying to find a way to let my family and friends know that I have this type of surgery. Is it bad that I have already started having dreams of looking fit, seeing old friends and them not being able to recognize me; and of course the constant question of how I lost the weight. Anyway I need to get through this week and stay away from the chicken wings becuase next week is going to be the hardest because I will start my pre-op Diet. aka... LIQUID DIET.

Hopefully having this blog will help me to pace my self, as well as have a place to vent... until I am ready to let my friends and family know what I am going through.

Wish me Luck!!! :frown:

I totally know how you feel... all though I am in the begining phase, I still have to go to orientation and lose 10% of my weight. How long did it take you to get your surgery date?

Good luck to both Romanticbliss and Carstar. It took me 4 months to get my date and then I got moved up a month because I was finished with all my pre op stuff. That was very exciting. I found the waiting to be one hardest parts. I have been banded since June 29 so I still think of myself as a new-bee. I wish you well and blogging helps me keep my paws out of the cookie jar. Have a nice day. imaluckydog

I dont think you should tell no one till you are ready. I have been overweight for 6 years and i have all size friends and i havent told no one due to if they are not going through what you are then they really dont understand so until you are ready to open up those doors to everyone opinion then keep it closed my theory is "Your opinion is nor desired or required"...LMAO Stay encourage i find out my surgery date sept9 Good Luck

It took me maybe 2 months. I think it went pretty quick for me becuase I told my Primary Care physician which then put it in her mind that she will then need to approve the surgery. I went to a Lab Band session and signed up to meet with one of the surgeons... and from there things went pretty quick mainly becuase they have a checklist for you and they help you get things done especially when you do let them know ahead of time that you want to do it as soon as possible. My last to do list was to go to the psychologist, and once that appointment was booked, the surgeon called me and gave me a few dates, and of course I took the closest date.

What are you planning on doing to loose to 10% body weight.

Thank you for the words of understanding. I as of yesterday told one of my closest friends, and luckily I already feel support from her; I think that may also be because her cousin was banded last year, and with knowing someone who has gone through and have lost weight, she understands and is happy for me. she is also one of those friends that the many years that I have been trying to loose weight she has been there with me with her skinny self. she's skinny and still tries to loose weight. hot mess...lol. I honestly do not plan on telling anyone, not even my mother and my sisters... but that is mainly becuase I live very independently and have alway done things for myself. Maybe in the future when I am comfortable with it, I will be able to let them all know what life has been life since being banded.

Good luck on getting a great surgery date. I was anxious when it came to getting a surgery date.
