Today I was approved by my insurance to have lap band. It is all seeming so real now. I have a surgery date of August 18th. When I spoke to my doctors office today I didn't know whether I should smile or cry, luckily I didn't have to chose and I did both! I am so nervous and excited. I still have distant memories of what life is like when you can walk in to any old clothing store and find your size, eat in public and not think people are wondering why you are so fat, or walking up a couple flights of stairs with out feeling like you are going to faint, or better yet not constatnly thinking about all the health issues I am putting myself at risk for for being so big! I can't wait to be back to the life I know I was ment to have. to be able to chase around my 4 year old son, and get back to my active lifestyle. So much is racing through my head! I guess all I can do now is start the count down!

Hey congratulations. It is wonderful in lapbandville. Be warned there are days that stink and you do miss the food but when you look at how much healthier you are each week and how much better you feel, it is so worth it. My surgery was a breeze, not near as bad as gallbladder and Disney land compared to the C-sections. I was so scared I could not sleep for weeks. I have been banded since May 28th, down 38 pounds and feel so blessed to have this tool. You can beat it if you want to , you can eat right around it and find yourself even bigger, you have to decide that you can do this and you want it and the feeling of fullness you get with the band will make this the tool to be successful instead of (like me) dieting over and over and over and failing as most of us have done before. God bless and good luck.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
