LAP-BAND Patients

Need some advice...I had my surgery back in Oct 2008 and have only lost 25lbs, since my surgery. I have lost inches, because my clothes fits my sort of lose now.

Any advice, on what to do?

Have you been losing the weight slow and steady or all in the beginning and then the weight loss stops?

I know how you feel. I have been stuck trying to get below the 300 lb barrier for three months. After getting frustrated, I have stopped exercising and not being strict with what I eat. I was in one of the chat rooms today and another chatter said to vary my diet and exercise. They also suggested I may need a fill in my band. Do you have a fillable band?

I havent had my surgery yet but I had a talk with my doctor and he said it all has to do with your diet and exercise. He said that the band is just there to help control your eatting but if you arent eatting right or exercising you will gain weight or not lose weight. I know its a rough journey I just met a lady this week who got it done a year ago and she lost 82 lbs because at first she was really strict with herself and stuck with it and just when she thought it wasnt working..the weight just started falling off. Just be patient it will come. Oh and with the band filling...my doctor said if you dont go like you should to get your band filled it will get to the point where you will get back to normal where your stomuch use to be and that you need to keep up with it. I hope this helps.

I am going threw the same thing. I had my surgery in Oct of 2008 and i have only lost about 30lbs. I lost 20 going threw the surgery and then I lost 7 after my first fill, but i have only lost about 4 lbs sense February. And it is weird cause some days I can't hold down anything except soup and other days I can eat just about anything. I don't snack, I only eat breakfast lunch and dinner. the last fill I was up to like 7 and the nurse told me that she hasn't seen anyone go past 9 so I should be getting to my limit for fills, but I just don't see how considering how I can eat....I am so frustrated right now, and I paid for this out of my pocket, no insurance........

I just went back to the doc for my 5th fill. I am up to 7.3CC. I do eat alot less and have major heartburn...I try chewing my food over and over again, but not working....it's now hard for me not to eat and drink cuz of this problem. I haven't lost any more weight, but I noticed that I have lost inches, dropped two dress sizes!! Now if the weight would just catch up...I too had to pay out of pocket for my band...I am trying to be patient, but with my 1yr band anniversay...I thought I would have lost way more weight than I have already!
