I've had the band since May 19 2009. I can't keep any food down. It feels like it stops in the middle of my chest. there was pain when i swolled but now that has stopped. but still can't keep any thing down I went to the doctor had an upper GI it was good but i can't eat any solid or soft food it will come up. and i've had no fills yet. please hep

Folks here can lend support but it looks like you need to have a good talk with the Dr. You need to be getting enough nutrition and that won't happen if you can't keep things down. Good luck.

I had the same thing happen to me and was thinking that I had totally made a wrong choice to be banded. But it is life changing. I had the upper GI test done also and it was determined that I was not properly chewing my food. Once I learned to thoroughly chew my food I was okay and it was a struggle because I was not use to that. You have to chew at least 25-30 times before swallowing. Let me know how it goes.

Hey, my advice would be to drin some hot tea with honey before eating and then chew your food very very well after taking very tiny bites. Start wit h mushies again and only have about one half cup at a time. Take at least 20 minutes to eat. If that is not enough in itself as you doc for a prescription for reglan. You may be having esophageal spasms.

hey my dorctor did give me a prescription for reglan after i was admitted into the hospital. i had an allergic reaction to it so now im waiting on something else still cant keep food down
