So here we go:

I'm just going to start by telling a little about myself. I'm a 44 yr old divorced male living in Baltimore, MD. For as long as I can remember, I've been heavy. Or as my friends & family refer to...stocky, husky, big framed, or large boned. Oy! Gimme a frickin' break...at this point in time at my age, height, and weight...I on the very beginning line of morbid obesity. In February when I first started to go for this I weighed in at 297 lbs. My insurance requires that I attend 6 classes with a dietician on staff once a month. She's a lovely person, but I don't think she's every had an ounce of body fat on her. lol But she must be doing something right because at my class last week, I weighed in at 288 lbs. Crazy! Do I need to do this or can I do it myself. The actual question should be "Can I do it myself and stick with it??!!" More than likely no.

Anyway, I am a fire dept. dispatch supervisor at 911 and I contribute a lot of where I'm at, to that. 21 yrs sitting behind a radio console inhaling take-out meals, and raiding the machines for munchies. Oh and not to forget the long hours of unending overtime never releasing my grip on a bottle of the poison I would kill for...Mt. Dew! Now of course, I'm not placing blame. I know good and well, I did this to myself. For several reasons which I may or may not get in to in later posts. I probably will. But for now I'll leave you at the beginning and will be back often to share my story.

And so it goes.......

You should definitely go fwd with lapband. With u being a man, having such a diet and walking, you should shed it fast. all of those things being changed ( not you being a man) you will drop the weight fast and feel gr8. You have so many things going for you , You can't not lose....Hang in there. You owe it to yourself...if not it is an early funeral and life will go on. Think about it

I wish you very good luck on your weight loss journey, I completely understand where you are coming from , with your job and the eating. I did dispatch work for a year for a cab company. The drivers all knew how much i loved my Starbucks coffee and would buy me a gift card every couple weeks. and even go get it for me, Large venti Caramel Macchiado/ one pump of chocolate with whip. yummy. but in that year i put on over 100 pounds. Not all the Starbucks fault either as i would love to cook for the drivers. and with my boss and his wife we would barbaque every tuesday for them as well. Holidays would have all the trimmings. I guess they were very spoiled cab drivers hahahaha. Anyway here i am learning how to eat correctly and get the weight off once and for all. Living with my grown kids isn't easy when they eat everything in site and bring home all the wrong things. but i'm learning to ignore their food. and i a very impressed that i'm doing very well. I have my first fill on the 23rd of this month and after losing 26 pounds so far am looking forward to losing more and a new life for me. Good Luck and i will continue to follow how your doing :o btyboop58

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! Einarmige Banditen
