Help. I ate pasta with turkey meat last night (small amount). I feel like something is stuck at the back of my throat. I feels like a small lump. My throat hurts.

It won't come up. What should I do ?

Any advice from anyone I would really appreciate. Thanks !!!

The feeling of 'stuck at the back of my throat' is something I get when I'm full...like things are backing up. But that shouldn't give you a sore throat...did something scratch going down? If it is a full feeling, and since you ate a long time ago, try drinking something and see if that flushes it through the pouch...might be a piece of meat.

Have you tried Papaya Enzymes (gel-tabs I think)...I was told at a support group meeting about them and to take if anything was having trouble digesting or stuck. It might be worth a try.

I know that my doctor told me that I should go on liquids for the next day or two after I get foods stuck. Everyone does try different things when foods do get stuck. My doctor told me he would unfill me to get the food unstuck if necessary. He said 30 minutes is way too long to be " stuck" . So this is helpful as well. You can try pineapple juice but with that sore throat that would burn like heck. I think just go on liquids for now and see if that helps .. Other things I know personally if I were to eat the day after would also not go so well. so liquids work very well for me.. keep us posted
