Okay late last night I did eat fried smoke sausages in the red skin after my husband left to hang out w/ some friends. He would not let mess up this liquid thing...they were SUPER GOOD!!! I am wondering if I do the liquids and some kind of meat, if that would be okay? It will be like the Atkins diet, no breads or starches...any way I may do that. I will check w/ my care cordinator Tuesday to make sure. I did walk over a half of mile last night on my treadmill in 15 mins (didn't even break a good
Okay yesterday I was suppose to start the pre-opt diet, but messed up. So today is going really well, but I am wanting to eat! So this morning I had one New Whey protein shot (42grams) on ice. Lunch: I had one New Whey protein shot (42grams) blended with about one cup of skim milk and ice. I also had a can of cream of broccoli soup w/ a half of cup of skim milk instead of using water. Honestly I am not hungry...I guess since I can't have what I want it's driving me crazy. Tonight I will ha
I went to The Vitamin Shoppe and they were out of the zero carb Isopure chocolate, vanilla and strawberry! So I got a box of New Whey 42grams of protein 3.1oz tubes. My nutritionist told me about them and since I am suppose to have 80 grams of protein a day these will be perfect! They are very convenient and no mixing, but I do want the zero carb Isopure.
Hello Everyone,   Today I will start the pre-opt diet! So I am on my way to the Vitamin Shoppe, I will get the zero carb Isopure (chocolate), multivitamin and a shaker. I will get my chicken broth, boullion, sugarfree popsicles and jello today too. I can't believe I am this excited consider my feeling before. I feel good about what is getting ready to happen to me. My pre-opt appointment is on 1/5...then I will meet Dr. Madan. I met Dr. Tyshanksi(?) twice he was nice also, but Dr. Madan
Hello Everyone,   I finally have my surgery date! It's on 1/11...so I'm cool with that, even though school starts back on 1/16. My care coordinator said they don't want me to do anything for a whole week. Well I am going to school on 1/16 regardless! I've read were other bandsters left the hospital the same day and was working out the next day. I know I will be in the hospital for two days at least which is cool, since my std kicks in that day or the next day and I won't have to use any o
Hello,   I am now waiting on my test results, before I can get a surgery date. I need to know when it is so I can get prepared. School starts back up on January 16th and nothing will keep me from school! I called Nicole at Dr. Madan's office to see if I could get an approximate date, but she said I will have to wait a few more days. I wanna have it done on 1/8 or 1/9. I think I will feel good enough to go to school the following week. Anyway...I know I am ready for CHRISTMAS!!! YEA!!! Happy BI
Hello Everyone,   Today was the GI test and it wasn't bad at all...but for some reason I woke up singing Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" song. The nurses thought that was funny. Anyway it was aight...the anesthesia was GREAT! I should get a surgery date on Wednesday, so I am excited now and not that nervous for once. Hope everything is going great for everyone, type you all later.   Sheila:bored Be BLESSED!
I am scheduled for the GI test or something like that on Demeber 20th and my husband won't be here with me(working in Pensacola)!:cry I was told I will be sedated and will need someone to drive me. I guess I can ask my sister and her husband to go with me. Oh well...
Tonight was the finale of my favorite show The Biggest Loser and I am so happy for Erik! They all did a fabulous job...I love Bob! He is so cute to me, I wish he could move in to whip me into SHAPE. Anyway, I met a lady at church last night who had the lapband surgery on November 21st and she looks good already! After talking to her, I feel better. I am trying to focus on other things right now, my mind need a huge break. For the past weeks I have been studying for school and taking tests

After reading the post about having regrets (wow!), I think I have a change of mind about wls. I am sitting here thinking that only one time in my life I put forth great effort to lose weight and all the other times I was just greedy and messed up. I know I have paid money for doctor visits and nutritionists, but I don't think I am ready to have surgery just to lose weight. It is hard being heavy and I am sad at times...but I don't think I can put myself through the sugery. My husband wants
I am finally approved for the Lap Band!!! Yet still nervous and scared...point blank. I guess it's the whole idea of putting something inside me that do not belong. I feel like I am saying the same things over and over again, but I can't help it. I've had a breast reduction before so it's not the surgery that is bothering me. I don't know...I'm just scared:cry   Sheila Be BLESSED!
Hello everyone,   I started on Adipex on 12/2, but before I started Adipex I was watching what I ate. So last night I weighed and "my" scale said 242! I'm thinking that can't be correct...but it is! I guess since I've been a little more discipline lately and exercising along with the Adipex it's starting to show. Oh by the way I am taking only half of the Adipex a day (it's too strong). So I updated my ticker for the first time!!! I hope I keep it up!:clap2:   Sheila   Be BLESSED!
I called UHC just to check the status of my claim and I was told that it is being reviewed and I should have an anwser this week. I hope so, because I am ready to get going!! I have started on Adipex and I feel a lot better! I am eating very little a day (a little over 600 calories a day). Thank God...just wanted to give you an update.   Sheila   Be BLESSED!:girl_hug:
I will be starting Adipex again on tomorrow just to jump start my weight loss. My claim is still pending with UHC, so in the mean time I've started cutting back on my calories and carbs. Adipex do make me sick if I do not eat right when taking them, so I will make sure I eat enough of the right foods. Other than that I am just waiting to get approved.   Sheila Be BLESSED!
Hello everyone,   I am sitting here reading about all the upcoming surgery dates and hoping I will here something this week. I checked my UHC claims online, but I only see where they have processed my visit with UT Medical. I am ready to get rolling...hopefully I will get banded sometime in December.   Sheila Be BLESSED!
Hello everyone,   I went to my other appointment at Dr. Madan's office (UT Medical) on yesterday and everything went great! They are very imformative and easy to talk too. I submitted all my paper work on yesterday to the coordinator and she will submit them to UHC on Monday. She said she loves UHC because they are so easy to approve WLS, at least within seven to fourteen days. However, I couldn't sleep last night from waking up thinking about the lap band and when I was sleeping I was dreamin
Hello everyone,   I have decided to go Dr. Atul Madan at UT Medical, since Dr. Woodman charges an additional 500.00! I've did a lot of research and I feel comfortable with my decision. My primary care physician sent my letter of reccomendation to me today, so I have all the necessay paper work to submit to UHC. I hope everything is going well with everyone....until next time, type ya later.       Be BLESSED!
Hello everyone,   I just wanted to let you all know that I am going forward with the process. I've met with the psychologist, nutrionist and the the nurse at Dr. Woodman's office. One thing that did not sit well with me is the 500.00 fee that Dr. Woodman charges ALL patients:mad: . The nurse said it is for the support groups and other activities, I ask what if I don't want to participate in such activities and she said I would have to pay it anyway. So I may call around to find another doctor
:drum: :car: After reading one of the post regarding Gastroparesis:( , I am back at the debating table. I am sooo scared, I don't know what to do!! Should I go see the nutritionist on tomorrow? Should I see the psy doctor on 11/2, (if not her next available is 1/18)? :( Wow!!! I am really :( scared and nervous! I don't want to do something that will satify me for a few years (if that) then when I am older have devastating results:( :( . It's a lot to soak in right now, especially when there
Hello everyone today is October 30th and I have finally sheduled an appointment with Dr. Mace Coday (psychologist) on Wednesday November 1st after her next opening was January 18! I go tomorrow to meet with the Jennifer Krog (nutritionist) and then my appoinment with the surgeon on November 3rd. For some reason I find myself waking up in the middle of the night scared out of my mind about the surgery. I have compared the risks and pain, but he benefits out weigh them both. I can't wait to wear a
Today is October 27th and I have made up my mind to have the Lap Band procedure. I've gone to the Dr. Woodman's (901-869-2000) seminar and have spoke with so many nice people here on LapBandtalk.com that have made me feel that this is a great decision. I have scheduled my first appoinment with Dr. Woodman (Novemeber 3rd, day before my birthday)I've also made an appointment with the nutritionist (Jennifer Krog 901-767-3576) and I am in the process of waiting for the psychologist nurse to call m
