Surgery date: 9-28

So, I have had a kidney infection, and I am taking Cipro for 7 more days. I got a call from my Surgeon's offfice this morning, and my surgery date is 9-28, so yes, I am going to be a September,10 bander. I have to see my dr. in the a.m. and I guess I will start my 2 weeks liquid thing tomorrow. Oh well, no time for a "last meal". Please keep your wonderful comments and sugestions coming. But more than anything, your prayers. If there is a prayer group on this site, I would love to know about it. I will keep you all posted.

Its been a while

I enjoy reading blogs so much, I forget to post to mine. I had my surgery on 9-28, and I guess my ups and downs have been like most everybody elses. I lost 18 lbs in the 2 weeks of pre op and I have lost 12 lbs since my surgery, 30 lbs in all. My first fill will be 11-17, and I will be ready for it. Of course I have very little restriction now, so I really have to stay focused. I am new hope that this band just might be going to work. Can someone tell me how to get my picture on this blog, I would like to introduce my ugly face. Its nice putting a face with a blog.

getting unstuck

So I am having my surgery on 9-28 and I have been hearing about getting stuck. I am beginning to understand how that happens, and my question is how do you get unstuck. I would love to know this before it happens. I hope it never does. Can anyone help me?

Half way thru preop

Well, this time next week, my band will be in place, and I'll be on to the next phase of this journey. Finally, I am beginning to be ok with this fluid thing, and I have lost 9 1/4 lbs since 9-15. It is so much fun stepping on the scales every morning and seeing the scales go down 1-2 lbs. Loving it. I had my first class of teaching how to eat or shall I say drink for the first few days, and I got scared to death, thinking I can't do this. but you know, I have a wonderful Heavenly Father that looking after me, and by the Grace of God, I can do this.

one more day of preop

I will be banded on 9-28 and I will be so glad to get this preop stage behind me. It has really become much easier to do this liquid thing. I will have to say that I am looking forward to eat something solid again. Anyway, I sure hope everything goes well on Tuesday morning.

copa, Dr Day

Well, today is 9-1-10, I have been thru my physcological evaluation, and today I see the doctor, not sure what's next. I was told by his assistant that I should be able to have my surgery 2-3 weeks after seeing him. So excited, and I just wish the "friends" that can be so critical and try to always discourage instead of encourage would just hush. I will let you know what my next move will be after I see my doctor.:tt2:

copa, next step

Well, I saw my doctor yesterday, I will have a endoscopy on 9-9, and as soon as my insurance is approved, my surgery should be around the last of September. I am really getting excited. My doctor was so nice, he is a Christian, which is very important to me. He answered all my questions. Love this site. it makes me feel like I have a lot of friends that I can share a common interest with.

special momet

:smile2:I just wanted to share a special moment at work today. I was sharing with my 3 coworkers that I am scared about tomorrow's endoscopy and my banding, which will be hopefully by 10-1. They all 3 walked into my office and said they wanted to pray with me. It was such a special moment, and although I know that God is in control of everything I do, it never hurts to be reminded ocassionally. I know that HE will see me thru whatever comes my way.
