George Alexander Fielding, MD,

George Alexander Fielding, MD, Professor of Surgery at NYU School of Medicine is a pioneer in laparoscopic and Bariatric surgery. He has taught laparoscopic surgery to many surgeons in Australia, the US, UK, Japan and various other Asian and European countries. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Britain’s Royal College of Surgeons. He has published more than 150 journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters. Dr. Fielding underwent Lap-Band surgery himself in 1999, giving him an unusually personal perspective on this special group of patients.
