I was initially hurt in a car accident which resulted in my initial weight gain due to the injuries sustained I took multiple steroids for pain.  Lack of exercise for a number of years caused me to pack the weight on along with meds.  I finally got devastated when I had to purchase a suit that was a size 26 I had never worn a 26 before always wore between 16 -18 at the most prior to the accident.I am a Christian woman and felt I could not Glorify Christ when my body was not healthy.  Daily I prayed asking for his help as I pulled myself out of my shell and went to the gym 3 times a week and began to work out.  My insurance approved my surgery for I was morbidly obese I hate the word obese.  It sounds like you are being called a beast!!!! LOLOL!!  I had high blood pressure, bordering on diabetes, apple frame which predisposed me to metabolic syndrome, knee pain, cholesterol levels elevating, and low back pain, etc. etc.God gave me the strength to discipline myself I have lost a total of 62 pounds.  I lost 32 pounds prior to surgery of which I practiced as if I already had the lapband.  As of 7/21/2009 I have lost an additional 30 pounds with the lapband.  My Journey started 1/7/2009 weighting 311 pounds.  All Praise to the Lord Jesus Christ and the discipline he has allowed me to regain.  I am now back in an size 18 and on my way to a 16 I am happy, full of energy, I do various exercises to keep myself from becoming bored.  I have great support from other friends that are bandsters also.  I have had 3 fills: First 4 cc, Second 2 cc, and third 0.5 cc and all of my fills have been successful.  No bruising or hurting or hard time finding my port.  I have a Realize Band which holds 11 cc and I am presently at 6.5 cc in my band and feel very good restriction. I eat 3 meals a day and try not to eat after 7:pm at night.  When dieting 6 days a week on the 7th day I always reward myself.  The rewards vary from a kiddie bag of popcorn to a scoop of rainbow sherbert sorbet.  Don't do this often but I do like the reward system.  Sometimes my reward is just being able to buy clothes off the rack in a regular store and not the plus size stores anymore.  That is the greatest feeling.  I feel great and with God's help I plan to keep up the discipline he has blessed me with as a gift these last 7 months.
