Hello, I am just beginning this process. About two months ago I went to an informational seminar and chose my surgeon. While doing internet searches for stories of what to expect I found BariatrcPal and began to lerk around.

Tomorrow, May 30th, I have my first meeting with him and a dietitian as well as a psychologist. I am a bit nervous about it all... I know my insurance has a 3 month supervised diet requirement that also will begin after this visit. (Other known requirements of my insurance: letter from PCP - I don't have one and after being in a new state for 8+ years I have an appointment with one recommended by a friend, but who knows if she will 'approve' me or not- Thyroid test, being over 40 bmi, and a physic exam...

So this is the official beginning of my journey and it feels overwhelming but at the same time as if these next 3 months will never pass.

My stasts: female, 33 years old, no children, 6 foot tall...my home scale reads enough to place me with a BMI of 41 (scary to admit that). I will put in my official starting stuff after my appointment tomorrow.

I am ready to take the next step in taking control of my life.
