Hi, Jini congratulations on your new journey. Look at the food sticky on food stages and that should help with your eating or should I say drinking. How long are you on liquids and how much do you have to loose if you don't mind me asking.

Jini, the answer to your first question is NOTHING. Liquid-only diet means liquid only--that is, you may eat nothing "of substance." Not every doctor requires this pre-operatively, though, so you may not have to even think about it. If your doctor does require it of you, he or she should give you clear instructions about what to take in during this time.

I did not have a pre-op diet... but I know a lot of docs require it. I had to do liquids after ... Clear Liquids. If your liquids do not have to be clear... I would recommend butter pecan Ensure with about a cup of ice blended into a milkshake. It saved me. And they taste good.

I am now on the mushies (thank goodness).

Refried Beans

mashed potatoes

applesauce

oatmeal

scrambled eggs

grits

cream of wheat

Good luck!!!

:*( Thanks for the help! Now for my next question, how on EARTH did you make it 7 days without eating anything of substance?

ACK!

I've been on liquids since Oct 6. My surgery is Oct 31. So, it's been a challenge. Two weeks-still more to go-plus liquids awhile after surgery. I've lost 14 lbs as of the past Sat. I'll weigh myself on Sat. again-and see where I am then.

Like others have said: sugarfree Kool-aide, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello, Water or Propel and others, hot tee or coffee. I'm doing the Advantage Protein shakes (with lots of ice crushed up). I only like the chocolate ones. Tried an orange Crystal light mix. Didnt' care for it.

Best of luck!

Mikie
