Just wondering

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and to the idea of getting a lap band surgery done. I'm just curious as to what peoples thoughts and feelings about the surgery are and also what the surgery entails. I don't like being in the hospital, but feel that this may be my only choice since I have tried just about everything else to lose weight.

I don't think many of us stay in the hospital, it's an in and out surgery. I know I go home as soon as I get up and start walking.

Do you research and read, read, read. There's so much info on here that as you read and ask questions, it will help you know if this is something you want to do. Good luck

I had my lapband and hiatal hernia repair surgery at 1:00pm and was outta there before 5:00pm the same day. So far I have not had problems with my band (fairly newly banded July 09) or with the lifestyle change. I agree with the above poster. Read about the band. Talk to others who have been banded. Check out different surgeon's web sites (even if they are in other states) I also have tried everything to take off weight.

I believe the difference with the band is that this time I will keep the weight off.
