Post op activity question

Hello Everyone,

I am getting banded on Oct 7th and I have my pre op on Sept 30th so I have not even talked to the doctor yet about anything. I work as the only pharmacy tech in a day surgery center and was curious as to what I can and can not do post op. I am not telling my work I having the procedure because my boss would not allow me off from work (she is lazy and does not like to work by herself) so I took a week of PTO. I know with HIPPA that my doctor can write me off from certain activies without spilling the Beans. But to get back to my question, what can I expect. I have been paying attention to my everyday activities latley wondering can I do this post op? Thanks!

I am 4 days post op!!

I feel fine no pain except some MAJOR bloating!!

I don't think that you should or could lift anything very heavy after 1 week, but I do not feel like I have many restrictions right now!

I think my doc said no heavy lifting (more than 10lbs) the first two weeks after surgery. Honestly I felt really crappy for the first probably week to two weeks afterward. After that, I started to feel better and better every day and then back to normal. Some people feel great right afterward. I was not one of those ppl! :seeya: But now its great and I am soooo happy I have the band. Good luck to you!

Take care and God Bless!

I got banded 9/21 and felt crappy the first couple days (effects from anesthesia and the like) and now, I feel fine. I would listen about not lifting anything (like the bins that shipments come in (I worked as a tech for a long time)) but other than that you should be ok. Just make sure to stay extra hydrated!
