My surgeon's office called me to tell me they were sending in the paperwork the afternoon of 9/3 (the thurs before labor day) and I was sent a letter dated 9/8 (the tues after labor day) saying I was approved!!!!

congats to you!!!!! i just found out that i am approved to and surgery is scheduled for oct.6th. i am a little overwhelmed that it took so long and i am finally here! i am a little concerned about the 2 week liquid diet before surgery---that will be tough--- any thoughts,suggestions, ideas?

123crod- I'm so happy that you like your band. It reassures me that this is the right decision for me.

smmajc11- Congrats! Sorry I can't help with the liquid diet. Luckly my surgeon said that I don't need to be on one before surgery. I keep reading on the boards and the folks on here are so full of help.

Hey Vic-I was just banded 8/31-I'm also a federal BCBS from KY. My surgery went well, no pain, some discomfort-anesthesia made me sick as a DOG, but that only lasted a few hours--you will do great-CONGRATS on starting ylour "new" life!!!!

I am so happy for you! I was banded two weeks ago, and it is not bad at all. Remember, this is a life changing experience. Go out and celebrate your success!
