Massages...How soon??

I love my massages and go every 2 weeks or so for my massage...sometimes more often:eek:

How long do I have to wait before going to get a massage after surgery?

I was thinking 4-6 weeks...any thoughts?

I have a very stressfu job and LIVE for my massages!!

Thanks

Ask your surgeon!

Hey, I'm with you about the massages. I actually went to one three days after surgery. I just laid on my back and she did some body work.

However, my stomach feels just fine to lay on and I am only two weeks post-op now. I have to say that I laid flat on my belly for my husband to adjust me probably only a week after surgery.

Just remember, you don't want the masseuse to use too much force/pressure because your body is healing and you don't want to release a bunch of built-up toxins during that time.

Good luck!

Hi There

I had a massage 10 days post-op, and again at 18 days post-op as I jacked-up my back pretty badly in hospital. I just made sure I told my massage therapist about the surgery and she ensured she didn't use too much pressure.
