I am 10 days post banding and I still have pain (especially at the port site) and a lot of bruising at all of the incisions. How much longer will this last?

I am 9 days post-op and I also and still sore mainly at the port site. My other incisions are fine though. It probably just has to do with how you body heals. As long as the incisions aren't weeping or smell bad you are probably ok. :w00t:

I think everyone is different, but I was in some pain for a while, especially at the port site. Don't know if I'm just a giant baby with pain these days, but when I called my surgeon to inquire about the pain, he just stated that "your body will need 4 to 6 weeks to heal from this procedure, so the pain will go away and just be patient" Not sure if that will help but I'm 4 weeks and 1 day post op,had my first fill yesterday and I'm in pain AGAIN!!! Like I first said, everyone is different and as long as the pain doesn't worsen, you should be fine. Good job on the weight loss thus far, keep it up:thumbup:

hi! i too am 10 days post op and most of my pain is port also. my bruising is nearing the end as it is yellow now. i used all my oxycodone as directed, and then asked the doc for another script of pain killer less in strength. i couldn't get to sleep at night from pain, so he gave me percoset. dosen't make me loopy, and helped with sleep. i underestimated the pain, and also the size of the incision. but am glad i did it! good luck to you! lisa6

I had a bruise only on 1 incision. It took 3 weeks for it to start going away. I had my surgery on Aug. 5th. My port has never really hurt, although when I bend to the right (my port area) I can feel it. I believe everyone heals differently.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
