I have been banded for just over a year now. Two months ago I could proudly say that I had lost around 80 pounds. Things have changed so much since then. In July, my family went on a 2 week vacation. It was the best time ever. A day after we got home, I started getting sick. I won't go into the details of the illness. Now over a month later after loads of testing and biopsy, the doctors still have few answers about my illness and I am off track. I have gained 20 pounds back and am unable to exercise. I want to know if anyone else out there has been through some tough times and I want to know that it will get better. I want to know that I will stop gaining and start losing again. I need hope. Please someone help me out.

Lost my heart,

Momwithaband

I have suffered setbacks medically with mine. I had thyroid surgery, then a twisted intestine, caught a TT in the middle of the 2 of them. Then had some really hard times---------my DD was diagnosed (MIS diagnosed in the end Thank You God) with a deadly disease----and I was so stressed, I broke out head to toe in hives! My throat included!

I ended up on steroids for 5 months, and gained almost 40 pounds back!

I had zero fill, following my surgery for the twisted intestine, but was maintaining fine, until the steroids. It was a FAST gain let me tell you!!!

I have been off the steroids, and have a slight fill again, and it is slowly going again---but it really sucks to have to lose it twice!!!

It is not uncommon for travel, especially air travel to mess with your band. If you swell and try to eat, it tends to set up an evil cycle.

I hope they find your issues soon, and you can get back in the losing game. Til then, try to eat healthy, not just for the weight loss, but for overall health as you figure out what is going on with yours.

I am a cancer survivor, and have used my band to help me learn to eat healthier in general. There are lots of us who are RE-losing weight we gained for one reason or another. It can be done!! First find out what is up with your health, then you can deal with it!

Good Luck, and don't give up!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
