Hello everyone,

I'm in the preop stage awaiting my 1st consult w/ the surgeon. I'm excited about getting lapband and am seeking any guidance and support out there.

I am 5' 5.5" and weigh 244 BMI=40.

I'm most nervous about the insurance approval process but will wait to see what the dr. says.

On a personal notes, I am 31 years old, married, mom of 2 (age 6 and 2), a NICU nurse and a grad student. I reside in Virginia and enjoy travel/outdoors.

Hope to hear from all of you and would love a few buddies for some extra very needed support.

Good Luck with everything. It is the best thing that I have ever done. Let me know if you have any particular questions.

I am also a "newbie" I went for my 2nd consultation today, I have lost a total of 25 pounds. We are now submitting to the insurance company for approval. I am nervous because I have never been in the hospital or put under for anything.. I can't wait to get started using my new "TOOL"!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
