Introduction

Hello all.

I have had an obesity problem all my life - as does everyone in my family.

Four members of my family have the band including myself. I also know several people with the band.

I am the worst example out of them all. I was banded almost 3 years ago and have only lost 27lbs (267 to 240). I have struggled to work off every bit of that. I have been 240lbs for months now. I have a bowflex, free weights and an elliptical. I exercise 2-4 times a week. I feel as if I am cursed.

I have had 3 fills. I went in for another fill today, but I could not get the white Fluid down (stuff you drink for x-ray). The Doctor had to take it out and said I had to make do with what I had in me already.

I have joined this site today to seek advice on losing weight.

I would really like to get down to 199, but I would be very happy at 210.

Ok Tony, welcome to lapbandtalk. It's cool to have a new member that's also a banded vet. So....where do you think you're going wrong? If you are actually using that exercise equipment, then the problem must be with your intake. The two things that come to mind immediately are: are you making good food choices? and are you confusing head hunger with physical hunger? Or is there something else I'm not addressing?

The important things to realize are that you can start over today, and you don't have to give up.

I think my main problems are drinking while eating and drinking calories

I need to cut out sugar in my coffee and the occasional soft drinks. I also drink a fair share of orange juice and apple juice, which I hear is not good

I do not eat sweets, candy, ice cream, chocolate, etc...

My name is not really Tony btw

Oh, wow! Gotta love a poster who answers his own posts!

I was gonna ask about the drinking while eating and the consuming high calorie, easy-to-eat/drink foods!

There is a group of bandsters on here who do something called a 5-day pouch test. It's a sort of kick re-start.

Here's the link to one of their threads. Maybe this will help?

I'm a big fan of the "pouch test", and will occasionally do this when I feel like I'm slowly enlarging my portions beyond what they should be.
