New to all this , please help

Hello everyone,

I had my first appointment today with my DR and he told me I am a great canidate for the LAPBAND. I am so relieved, excited, and nervous. Know I am curious to how long the process takes. I have heard from some people it can take as long as 6 months and others have said it has taken weeks. I am scheduled for blood work tomorrow and they said it will take about two weeks to get all the results back. The DR said I will then see his assistant and as long as the tests are okay we will schedule the operation...but I dont know if he was sugar coating everything.

I did call my insurance and they said I would be approved for the operation.

I was told it's be about 6 months months. Well, 3 months later, here I am banded, LOL

Good luck

It really depends on a lot of factors. Requirements, insurance, doctors visits, diets. It really depends, I know my process took about 4-5 months, but I hope yours is speedy. Good luck!

Mine was about 2 months you can get things done as fast as you want or take alittle more time. Good luck I was banded June 11th and am doing pretty good so far.
