Cajun Girl's First Post

Hi! I am Cajun Girl. This is my first post. My surgery date is 6-2-09. Just 2 weeks! Just started pre-op diet. No Carbs!

Getting somewhat nervous as time gets closer. I don't want to fail again.

Welcome and good luck! The preop and post op diets are tough but just hang in there with them!

You'll do great!

Hello Cajun Girl and welcome. Considering your name, are you originally from Louisiana? And if so, where?

I am from Morgan City! Right next to the gulf of mexico. I am alway homesick - Miss those cajuns. You sound like you have a great support system in place. My family is behind me all the way. What type of surgery will your daughter have?

Dee

My daughter isn't having surgery, but I did 10 months ago and don't regret it for a minute!!!

Cool! We should keep in touch. Are you nervous? I go back and forth, but mostly excited. I started walking today. Look forward to the day that my knees and feet stop hurting and I can do more. I need to lose 110 lbs. I am too young to feel this old!

Sorry, I am new at this. Must have gotten you confused with someone else. What are some good cajun dishes you are still able to eat? I used to live on Essen Lane -late 80's.

I am not too tight, so I can eat boiled crawfish, jambalaya, pastalaya, shrimp, and fried fish. I still eat most thing that I ate pre-banding, except I try to stay away from white bread.

I am pretty anxious! I literally just finished my first pre-surgery diet meals (all protein shakes).

My good friend is having hers done in 2 1/2 hrs! We are 2 weeks apart. :purplebananna: She lost 10 lbs in the first week of the diet. I'm not sure about the second week.

My personal goal is 100 lbs. If I loose more I'll be happy too.:Banane01:

I also was banded with a really good friend/colleague. She had her surgery 2 weeks before me. It is really good to have someone you know personally to go through this with you.

All protion shakes! Wow are you feeling ok? I have been on no carbs since Sunday and feel a little jittery today. I also teach middle school - last week - that could be part of it! You are so lucky to a best friend go through this journey with you. I am shooting for 100lbs and a little more would be cool!

I am on a no carb, hi protein diet for two weeks. Also trying to give up diet coke. I really like diet coke! O well, I think I am going to love being thin even more. I just hope I don't mess this up; I have already told everyone in sight what I am doing. This is such a big step, it is nice to talk to others who get it! We all know what it feels like to struggle with our weight and fail at every diet on Earth. We are getting a new start on the 2nd of June! Yeah! Best wishes!
