  1. Sarah, Did you have problems making arrangements for fills and other care after the surgery? I was told that doctor's do not like the idea of taking care of another doctor's patient. Was it difficult for you to find someone? annieminute
  2. Hi Cajun Girl, My surgery is also scheduled for June 2nd in Austin Tx. I am on a low carb, hi protein diet and then a clear liquid diet the day before surgery. Are you on any kind of prep diet? annieminute Create Your Own Ticker
  3. Restless Monkey, How did they ascertain that your liver was too large for surgery? Did they take an Xray before surgery or did they rely on a physical exam? Also, what type of pre op diet were you given? I am on a low carb, high Protein diet for two weeks pre surgery, then one day of clear liquids. Is that what you had? Annieminute
  4. Hi, I am your neighbor in Bedford. Originally I was scheduled for May, but it has been changed to June 2nd so I guess I am no longer a Mayo Bandito. Good luck with your surgery. Are you on a liquid diet now? Annieminute
  5. Forgot to ask, does anyone know how long we have to wait before flying?
  6. Hi Everyone, I will find out Monday when my surgery will be scheduled. It is necessary for me to do the two week liquid only diet. When I asked why, I was told that they wanted to shrink the liver?? It seems that if the liver is too large it has to be lifted in order to have enough room to perform the surgery.
  7. I am not going to have the surgery until next month, but am nervous already. Guess we will just have to remember that the surgery is fairly quick and everyone says it is well worth it. It would be great if you can keep us posted on your recovery. Good luck.
  8. Please keep us posted on your progress. I will be having my surgery in May and know very little about what to expect. It is always best to hear from people who have experienced this procedure first-hand. How are you coping with the liquid only diet? annieminutenow
  9. Good luck to both of you. I am your neighbor in Bedford and am waiting for a surgical date. Please let us know how you both are doing. Where is your surgery going to be? I have to go to Austin. annieminutenow
  10. Hi, I am scheduled to have lap band surgery in May. It would be great to get some information about what to expect. Also, what are the most difficult aspects of lap banding? How hard is it to adjust to eating only 2 ounces? :huh2:
