How much were you eating...

at 8 days post-op. Yesterday I actually found myself getting hungry!! ARRGHHHh...

I'm still on "nutritional fluids" having 1/2 cup every 2.5hrs or so...is this what everyone else did at 8 dpo? I'm happy to stick with the fluids for the next 6 days (as per doc) but not sure about the amounts and how often I should be eating.....my friend was banded just over a month ago and told me that I should/could be eating upto 1 cup at a time??...not sure...any ideas/help??

Our docs are just different. My was really lenient, but you should do what your doctor suggested. What your doctor said (liquids for 2 weeks) sounds kind of typical for a post op diet. I was advanced to mushies fairly quick, but stayed at 1/2 c for a few weeks.

Well I was banded 3 days ago and day 4-10 for me is 120ml of fluids every 20-30 minutes, I agree with crzy every doctor is different, do you have a dietician? Try ringing them or your surgeon's nurse, my surgeons nurse is extremely helpful and I wouldnt of got thru any of this without him so it does pay to know them well. Try drinking a little more - I'm only on day 3 and feel like I could easily drink a cup of liquids now but I'm not even going to attempt it. Good luck =)

Hmm...I was on fluids for 2 weeks...week 2 was full liquids (protein shakes oh yum) but since I had no restriction he didn't limit how much or when. In fact, after my surgery I drank like 30 ounces of Water in about 5 minutes...the nurse gave it to me!

Each doc is different though; how he places the band, if he puts fill in, etc. A different "touch" can make a difference in how fast we heal, how swollen we are, etc.

I'm glad I didn't have to mess with rationing my liquids since I could drink easily.
