Does any one have any problems eating white pasta? I was told by one dietician no white pasta but now I am seeing another one and nothing was mentioned that it had to be wheat. How about you guys?? I will be moved to soft foods on wednesday and my paper says ground meat casseroles are allowed. ANy suggestions?

I was told also no white pasta or easer yet (lol) no white four products at all for a while. Well last week i went to lunch with my boss and had a burrito ate about half went down fine but about 15 min.'s later OH MY GOD the pain. I guess the torttilla swelled up and OUCH. So i've learned my lession. Others will say "check with your doc" this is good sound advise. I've also read where others have no problem with breads and pastas. If you want to be a hard head (lol) like me (I'm always testing my limits) you could try but its not advisable.

Everybody is different in what they can and cannot eat. I've been fine so far and can eat everything just fine. obviously whole wheat pasta is healthier for you than white pasta. plus I haven't even noticed a difference in the taste.

I was told no regular pasta at all and whole wheat pasta in very small amounts. Really, why would you want the plain pasta when the whole wheat is simply healthier, regardless of the band? I switched over to whole wheat pasta when it first hit the marketplace. You have to cook it a couple of minutes long but I like it just fine. haven't eaten ANY pasta since getting banded, but that's by choice.

I think the problem with white pasta is a general lack of nutritional "bang". Our nutritionist said if we just HAD to have it (or rice, for that matter) to make sure it was well done, because as you know pasta keeps on absorbing liquids and can therefore swell. So with proper restriction you can end up with a pouch full of pasta that will just swell and that's not good.

Just be careful with pasta and rice.
