Thats the spirit!! Three cheers for no more knee pain!!

Had my pre op meeting today with the surgeon. I must say he is a wonderful man. Great sense of humor. Very attentive. And he makes you feel so at ease!

The pre op prep is not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

The rest of this week I need to just continue staying away from the carbs. Then Sunday and Monday I will do the liquid stuff.

I'll post again as soon after my banding I can!

Thanks for all the great support these last 5 months!

OOPS! Forgot to mention banding will be done on Tuesday, June 9!!

I had my surgery June 1 too.I am really sore where the port is but, have been up walking every day.Keeping down the diet the Dr has me on and doing fairly well for what I've been through.Questions anyone?

glad to hear you're okay childcare! I haven't had a problem with post-op liquid diet so far either. No pain meds today. Took them yesterday but more so because I just wanted to rest.

So we're moving and a grooving!!

Childcare, actually feeling pretty good. Would love to take a bath but such is life...showers it will be for a while. Just had a half a cup of tomato soup. so life is good.:) But still no hunger which is even better.

Hope you're doing fine.

Scheduled for June 12. Nervous about surgery but not about the changes I need too make. Do not have to do the liquid diet preop. Have 90-100 to loose. BMI is 38 with moderate sleep apnea. Insurance does not pre approve, only nervous about getting stuck with a big bill.

I'm so happy for everyone who's had it done already! I can't believe that THE time has actually rolled around! Mine's Monday and I'm not a bit nervous anymore, that might change come the day of, but right now I just want it DONE!!

I am getting banded on the 6th of June- Can not wait!

I am one week away and right now I am feeling good about my decision. Yesterday I went shopping with my grandkids. I had a heck of a time just finding something to wear...and the top button of my pants kept coming undone. Funny how reminders so simple can make such a big impact! I was so upset with myself for being so fat. I wonder how it makes my grandkids feel.

Phenry, I'm sure your grandkids love you no matter what...kids are like that. But just think how much better it will be when you can do even more with them because you won't have the weight slowing you down. I was banded on Monday June 1. So far have lost about 10 lbs with pre-op diet and now but I really am able to get my yogurt and jello and soup down pretty good, just slow. And really only eat it because I know I need to. Just take it easy the first few days. You know us "older" patients aren't 21 anymore...lol. My daughter was banded last year in Feb on a Tuesday, flew back from Houston on Friday and worked Saturday. I'm taking off until next Wednesday. No pain, but still sore.

Good luck next week

Trisha

Thanks Trisha! I have to have an endoscopy tomorrow morning as a final test before surgery next Friday. Sometimes I have trouble swallowing...I had a stricture in my esophagus and had a balloon open it up last fall. The surgeon just wants to take a look down there to make sure this surgery is a good choice for me. I am glad he is doing that first rather than just smoothing it all over and doing the lapband anyway. So....if all goes well I will be joining all fellow bandsters. I have a friend who works for one of the surgeons in Houston. She lives down there and had her band put in about 2 years ago. She became sort of a "poster child" for him and now works for his office. So are you having any pain?

keep up the fight.

wow, in the very near future this way of living will all be a memory for all of us. No more squeezing into clothes. Pretty soon you will be taking your grandkids shopping for you new clothes!!
