Hi Jodi, welcome to lapbandtalk. I suggest you browse through the various sections...there's a TON of advice on here (follow at your own risk if it doesn't "sound right" though, lol). Probably the biggest tip I can give you is to follow your doctor's instructions very closely and to maintain good communication with him / her. Communication is key. Good luck to ya!

Welcome Jodi! I was banded March 13th and so far I have to say it has been the best decision I could have made. I've lost 15 pounds in my first 10 days and I'm sooo looking forward to getting about a month down the road. If you're not sure or nervous, just pray about it. I know I couldn't have done it on my own - I've been trying to ten years! Good luck to you and keep us posted!
