Should I Be Nervous?

I was just banded on March 8th and I am so worried that I am going to sip too much, sneeze, cough or hiccup and the band is going to move or slip. I have a pretty powerful sneeze and it just scares me a little. Is this something to be conscious of? I didn't get sick or vomit after surgery at all but I'm still freaking out a little. Do I have anything to worry about? I have a 9cc Realize Band and am still on clear liquids for 9 more days. Please help. Thanks.

I've never heard of sneezing or coughing your band loose. If you are worried, though, call your surgeon's office tomorrow and just ask about it. They can put your mind at ease! (or prescribe an antihistamine! LOL)

good luck!

I got a really bad cough like a week after I was banded. My doc told me that I couldn't move the band by coughing. What they really want you to avoid is vomiting.

im glad you asked that gabi, b/c knowing me and my scared but about everything i would wonder the same, b/c i to cough hard, laugh hard, and sneeze hard!!!! lol So i would of posted this once i got my band if i hadn't of found ur thread!!! lol good luck to u dear!
