How long after surgery until First Fill

Hi everyone. Hope all are well today. I was wondering how long after the initial surgery until I get my first fill? I was banded on 2/23 - I have a follow up this Friday and was wondering if they will fill me at that time or if I still need more time to adjust to the band?

Thanks

Jackie

Every doctor is different, but usually 6 weeks from surgery is your first fill. I doubt you will get one at your follow-up appointment.

My Dr said a month to six weeks before the first fill. But each Dr is different and each persons recovery is different so as you can image it can be different for each person.

I was banded on 2-3-09, had follow-up 2 weeks later and don't have a fill scheduled til 3-23-09....I think most wait til at least 6 weeks after surgery.

My surgeon also waits six weeks. Rarely you'll find one who will fill at 4 weeks, but lap band guidelines says 6.
