Hi- I was wondering whats is the first step in getting the lap band done. I went to a seminor, but they didnt take my insurance. I was sad becouse they didnt even try to help me find someone who does take the insurance. I went to my OBGYN who told me about a docter at Yale, CT who does take the insurance. I just dont know what i'm suppose to do. they want me to get things done but with no referal. Help!!!!!!

I would check with your insurance provider first. They should have a list of providers in your area so that you can go directly to those that you know are covered. It will save you a lot of time and aggravation to go directly by their list.

Calling your insurance company is a good idea too. They will tell you if the procedure is covered, and you can also find out the insurance company criteria for lapband approval.
