I'm not one to judge others without knowing them/all the facts, but this one burned me!!! I watched the announcements of the Octuplets being born, and thought; well it must have happened due to follicle stimulation because no Dr. would do invitro with 8 or more embryos. Yesterday I watched as the experts gave their opinions with the same conclusion I came to. There was no way any of them would have done invitro with that many eggs and they would turn someone away who wanted that, so they also felt it must have been egg stimulation that caused this.

Now this morning I learn that the mother, who is currently living at home with her mother, already has six children (we know nothing about the father)!!!! And here's the kicker...it WAS invitro!!!! Holy Cow!!! I get that there are crazy people out there, so I'm writing the mom off as nuts, but what the heck happened to regulating and having rules about ethics for this for the Drs.??!! What's next...cloning? Know that I have family members and friends that have been helped by fertility specialists, so I know the benefit in using one, but this guy crossed the line. Just MO.

Why does she have to live near you for you to take her in? I think it is a great idea Patty Green. I am sure she had made enough money now, so she can afford the trip to your house, so you can take her in. Heck, I am sure the state of California would love you to make the offer directly to octo-mom.

As all the children are released out of the hospital we can ship them off to you and you can read all the kids bible stories.

Remember how for the longest time they would only say three of her children were receiving benefits but would only mention the one with autism but wouldn't mention the other two? Now you see why. I am hoping the news reports are wrong; that octo-mom did not turn down the free offer of nursing staff and a free home from "Angel" somethng or other.

News reports state octo-mom turned down the offers, because the organzation offering to provide the free services stated they would not provide it if the babies were exposed to a t.v. reality show.

It is being played in the media that octo-mom turned the free services down so she could take offers of a reality t.v. show. Sounds like octo-mom really has the best interest of the children:scared2: yeah right!

If I were her, I would totally accept a free home, even if it was a rental and free nursing care for my preeme babies.

I heard Dr. Phil tell her something like student loans aren't designed for people to use as a primary source of income. She seemed to think it was okay as long as she was aware that she had to pay it back.

I wonder why they even give out loans for education like that. I would be more pro-School Grants if they would do it more honorably. Like say, the money goes directly to the school and the school keeps an account of how much you have to spend. Then whatever you don't spend at the school can either be saved for next Semester or returned to the fund in which it came.

Personally, I believe a conservatorship should be established through the court for the children. In this way, it becomes public record as to how the money is spent.

And the judge can require the conservator to report to the court hearing monthly, quarterly or yearly. I think monthly inititally followed by quarterly, but never yearly. This will cost more, but it is well worth it.

Too many things can disappear in a year.

I believe a conservatorship was set up for Anna-Nicole Smith's daughter.

Again, I'm all for accountability.

Okay, just heard on the 11PM news (ABC affiliate) that octo-dummy turned down the free house and 24hr care for her infants (from that Angel place) b/c it wouldn't allow a reality show on the babies or press conferences and releases! As far as releasing the babies, I'm surprised that they're doing well enough at this point to even BE released. I thought it would be another while yet.

I actually feel bad for Kaiser. They kinda got stuck in the middle of this. They took her on from an outside provider and now they're embroiled in this mess. And I'm sure will end up footing part or all of the bill which will then be passed on to us members. So I can look forward to paying for this mess several different ways. Yea me!

I am not shocked by this at all. It's plain to see she is all in this for very personal reasons. Nothing what should be about and that is the poor helpless children who desperately need a REAL mother.

Not really me. I never cared much for this story, I only watch to see how the little ones are doing. With a Mom like that there is much to be concerned over.
