Hi all - I am 34yrs old, I live just outside London and I am due to be banded on 21st January - scary :huh2:. I start my pre-op diet on Thursday, so I would be grateful for any suggestions of what to eat - is it totally fat-free, or are we allowed a trace of fat?

I am really excited, but I am also very nervous. I have told very few people, but the ones I have told have been very supportive. I am looking forward to 'speaking' to you all and taking this journey with you. :tongue2:

Hello Natalie!

Has your surgeon given you directions on what you should be eating pre banding?

If he/she says no fat, than no fat it is. If not, follow what you are being told.

As hard as the next few weeks will be, believe me when I tell you that it will fade into distant memory as you move through the phases of being banded.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
