Banded: 1.12.09 =)

Hey All!

My name is Mimi and I'm 19 years old. I will be 20 On Feb. 12th. After almost 20 years of obesity and failed diets, I have decided to make a BIG change in my life and change it for the better. I am getting banded on Jan 12 of 2009 and I am very very nervous, but sooo excited! I think is the best thing for me because i am young and I wont have to worry about being self-conscious for the rst of my llife. =)

Those of you who have been banded, what should I expect. I'm so nervous!

Hi Mimi, congratulations on your decision to get banded. I so wish something like the band had been available to me when I was your age. I would have definitely done it.

As long as you are familiar with all of the "bandster rules" before you get your surgery and understand that this is a tool, not a miracle cure, then you should do great with the band. Spend as much time between now and your surgery date reading the forums, asking questions and learning about the band so you are well-prepared once you have it.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Thanks so much Susan. I have been sort of looking into it and trying to learn as much as I can and this website is just amazing!
