I just discovered this site and would like to hear from others who have just gone through the surgery, any complications, how you're feeling, how different it is eating now vs. before....I hope to talk to lots of people here for support and to answer my questions I might have!! Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Hello Amy: Welcome to LBT.

I was banded on 11/11/08 and I have no regrets. I did have a slight complication. During surgery my spleen began to bleed slightly. After surgery, I had to have my blood drawn every three hours to make sure blood cell count was at the proper level.

Additionally, I had a difficult time with the pains meds while in the hospital. My one night stay turned into 2.5 days in the hospital. I was okay with that, because I really was not ready to go home.

By day 7 post op I was doing GREAT! I started driving, shopping and doing light chores all on day 7. I went back to work on 11/24/08 and felt really GREAT. I was not tired, I felt energetic, and was in no pain.

I am now working out on the treadmill at home and working out with very light free weights for my upper body.

I am on the mushie phase of my post op diet. I have great restriction, because my doctor pre-filled me with 3ccs at time of surgery. Total weight loss pre-op diet and post op diet is 29 pounds.

Good luck!
