How long does the stomach bloat last?

I had my surgery on 11/7 and have lost 16 lbs. since then. I feel pretty good (I still get tired easily), but what bothers me most is the swelling (though no soreness) above the port (I also had a hiatal hernia fixed). My waist was always my smallest part, and though I'm pleased with my weight loss so far, it's uncomfortable when I get dressed that my waistline is bigger than it was pre-surgery.

How long does this last?

My swelling from the gas lasted about three weeks, but I have read of others that lasted longer. It does go away.

Keep up the good weight loss. Maggies:shades_smile:

Thanks, Maggies. The swelling seems to be becoming more localized, but it sticks out like half a softball on my right side, as I said, above the port.

How long till you get all of your energy back?

I was banded on 11/14 and I too am having problems with swelling. It is mostly where the port is but it makes wearing pants very uncomfortable.

When do people start feeling less sore?

Was your port installed on your right side? I know everyone (Dr) is different but mine is on my left side. Just wondering about it.

I still have gas swelling and I am 19 days post op. I am hoping that by week 4, the gas swelling will diminsh.
